How is it possible that it takes an entire month to receive a single piece of paper and only two days to get a visa that lets me live in Zhōngguó for a year? I have no idea, but in case you were wondering, 中國 or "Zhōngguó" is the actual name of the country we call China.
If I ever receive my all important piece of paper, I will fly from:
Seattle to Vancouver
Vancouver to Beijing
Then I will stay with Xiao Ouyang for several days and explore Beijing's underworld of art.
Finally I will take the train to Lhasa via almost three days of Chinese countryside, arriving with a few days to acclimatize before classes start at Tibet Univeristy on the 15th of September.
